European economic challenges in the age of Trump

As the European economic recovery picks up pace, Europe still faces considerable economic challenges. Economic disparities between the north and south remain, the European Central Bank will soon start normalizing monetary policy, Brexit negotiations are ongoing, and political uncertainty now characterizes Germany and Italy. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is taking a more protectionist policy line toward European trade.
