Make an Exception

Or, when should you follow the rules and when should you break them

 
In the movie The Equalizer, Denzel Washington plays a former black ops commando who fakes his death to live a quiet life in Boston. When he comes out of his self-imposed retirement to rescue a young girl, he finds himself face to face with ultra-violent Russian gangsters.

There’s a scene in the movie where he confronts the antagonist and warns him about what’s about to happen if he doesn’t stop his criminal operations immediately.

“Done some bad things in my life, Nikolai, things I’m not proud of. I promised someone that I love very much that I would never go back to being that person.”

“But for you…I’m gonna make an exception.”
